Has anyone here ever had a colonic? It's usually 'recommended' that raw foodies do it as part of the detoxification process. However, I always read about mixed feelings on it - some say it's perfectly safe and fine, while others advise against it. I'm debating whether to get one, but so far I'm thinking no just to be on the safe side. Yet, thinking about 'cleaning out house' is very appealing to me. Some would argue that our body has everything it needs internally to completely clean ourselves out, and is in no need of any medical procedure. What do you think?

I've heard similar info on colonics. Though I've also heard that you should only start doing colonics after you've been raw for at least a year, so that it's not such a shock to your system. Apparently if you've been an unhealthy eater for a long time, it's not recommended to have a colonic right away, as there are some side effects. Myself, I just started going raw about two weeks ago. I'm not even thinking about having a colonic at this point. :-) Hope that helps.
